Mass Finishing, Inc. manufactures centrifugal barrel finishing machines designed to deburr, polish, radius, burnish, and improve the surface finish of manufactured parts. Our equipment is used across industries including medical manufacturing.
From small precision components to larger production parts, our centrifugal finishing equipment provides an efficient way to achieve consistent surface results. And, unlike common vibratory tubs, our Centrifugal Barrel Finishing Machines are engineered to be whisper quiet to meet any noise emission limits required.
Centrifugal barrel finishing uses high energy and controlled mechanical action to process parts in a fraction of the time often required by conventional vibratory finishing methods. MFI offers a range of centrifugal barrel tumblers, with equipment selected according to part size, material, quantity, and desired finish. Our machines can be configured for applications ranging from aggressive deburring to fine polishing, and surface refinement.
Machine processing is preferred by many medical manufacturers for the ability to create an easily repeatable process that frees up time consuming deburring by hand. The ability to load all parts into an MFI machine and have them all come out of the machine with the same results is irreplaceable. You can eliminate man-made errors while also freeing up your employees for more important tasks.
Our centrifugal barrel finishing machines can also be used for polishing and burnishing applications. By selecting the appropriate combination of finishing media, compound, processing time, and machine settings, manufacturers can achieve a wide range of surface finishes. This makes centrifugal finishing a versatile solution for both functional and cosmetic applications.
MFI works with customers to determine the appropriate process for their specific parts. Instead of simply supplying a machine and leaving the customer to determine the process independently, our team will test your parts in our Processing Lab and develop a finishing recipe based on the desired results of the customer.
Depending on the application, these options may include a media separator built into the machine for easier media and part separation, light curtains for additional safety, and other accessories designed to improve operation and integration.
MFI’s approach is focused on providing practical, reliable finishing equipment that meets the needs of the application without unnecessarily complicating the machine. Our goal is to help customers get the right equipment configuration for their parts, process, and production requirements.
Testing allows us to evaluate finishing media, compounds, cycle times, machine speeds, and other process variables before equipment is purchased. The result is a more informed finishing solution and less guesswork for the customer.
Our test lab supports applications involving deburring, edge radiusing, polishing, burnishing, and surface refinement. Once the appropriate process has been established, we can recommend the machine, media, and compounds needed to reproduce the desired results in production.
You will also receive a fully developed and proven recipe for running your parts through the machine. This eliminates guesswork and saves you time and materials. You can send as many parts as you’d like to our test lab and our experienced team of processing technicians can develop a recipe for each one.
Mass Finishing, Inc. has built its business around helping manufacturers solve difficult finishing applications. From our test laboratory to our manufacturing floor, we work to understand the application before recommending equipment and process parameters. Our equipment is proudly manufactured in the USA, and we are committed to providing customers with practical finishing solutions backed by experienced technical support. MFI is ISO 9001-2015 and MNSHARP certified; we can also provide CE compliance equipment if necessary.

Deburring and Polishing Solutions
Mass finishing is commonly used to remove sharp edges, burrs, and imperfections created during machining, stamping, casting, cutting, and other manufacturing processes. Centrifugal deburring can provide a consistent finish across large quantities of parts while reducing the need for manual finishing.

Mass Finishing Engineering and Equipment Design
Effective mass finishing requires more than selecting a machine based on part size. Factors such as part geometry, material, production volume, desired finish, and loading/unloading requirements all play a role in determining the right finishing solution. Our engineering team combines equipment knowledge with practical experience to help customers select and configure equipment for their specific production needs. While our machines are built around proven standard designs, we can incorporate application-specific accessories and features to accommodate different processes and production environments.
Depending on the application, these options may include a media separator built into the machine for easier media and part separation, light curtains for additional safety, and other accessories designed to improve operation and integration.
