SKS AG is a family owned Swiss business which manufactures high-quality and durable tools for the inhouse production of high precision plastic parts for the Medical Device industry. We produce them to a highest accuracy on behalf of its customers. We also have an assembly department where we manufacture entire assemblies automatically, if desired in a clean room. We’re providing a full range of assembly skills including printing, welding and customized packaging.

Highly efficient and automated production of high precision plastic parts

Following our customer needs we have the same goal: namely, flawless, clean and competitive products. To achieve this, we have always invested in the latest technologies, whether in our in-house tooling department or in production. We are convinced that through the high grade of automation we can deliver Swiss quality products at competitive prices. To support our customers in this way, we are able to invest in digitalization and technology. With our many years of experience and efficient processes we strive to deliver always on time.

No matter in which industry: Quality is the key

Following our standards and policy we invest in sustainable new machinery which enables us to produce the highest quality. To ensure this our quality department is monitoring our production processes according to customer needs periodically up to an 100% Level. For products with increased cleanliness requirements we also have special assembly spaces in a clean room. We are ISO 9001 and ISO 140001 certified and are on our way to receive the ISO 13485 medical certificate before the end of 2023.

However, the journey is not over yet. Our next goal will be getting the automotive certification, which covers other aspects of quality assurance and safe processes.

Our specialty are plastic parts made of various materials

Our specialties include the production of precise plastic parts from 0.1 grams to approximately 300 grams. These offers a wide variety of gears and drives as wells as parts of all kinds. Plastic is also a good substitute for metal by over molding individual metal components and turning them into hybrid, lighter parts as well as integration of mechanical functionality. High performance polymers like PEEK are well known and part of our daily work.

Secure existence of our family company through market diversity

In addition to the medical market, SKS AG also supplies other industries worldwide and is therefore broadly based and not dependent on one industry. A large part of our products goes to the building industry including sanitary installations and fluid handling systems. The machine and apparatus construction are our target markets as well as the electronics or telecommunication industry.

In addition to so much technology, there is also just as much personality

It all started with the foundation of the company in 1981 by Karl Steiner. With his brother-in-law, he started in a garage with two injection molding machines.

The company grew steadily and, like any business, experienced ups and downs. Today, our company consists of 45 machines with a clamping force of 30 to 220 tons. Around 100 employees work 5 days a week, some of them in 3 shifts. In case of high demand, weekend productions are also possible in order to be able to supply our customers on time.

From 1992, the company belonged only to the family Steiner and this is still the case today. The children were involved in the company from an early age and learned so much by doing until all three successors, namely Valerie, Michael and Lilian, were completely involved in the company. In 2021 Valerie took over the job as a CEO from her father. Michael remains in his long-time job as Head of Toolshop and Innovation as well as Lilian as Head of Business Development and Marketing. In 2022 all three siblings together took over the company shares.
