Exo-s Expands Capacity for the Future of Medical Manufacturing

21 September 2026

Exo-s Robotic Automation Cells

Exo-s today announced the expansion of its injection-molded component assembly capacity with the commissioning of additional robotic automation cells to support the continued scaling of medical programs.

Located within Exo-s’ ISO 8 (Class 100,000) cleanroom, the new automation cells will increase production capacity for a current medical program by 50%, bringing annual capacity to more than 1.5 million units. The program involves a complex surgical instrument requiring the molding and automated assembly of more than nine individual subcomponents per finished unit.

The expansion represents an important investment in Exo-s’ ability to support medical OEM customers as their programs transition to higher-volume production. By increasing capacity and automation capabilities, Exo-s is helping customers scale critical medical components while maintaining consistent quality, efficiency, and delivery performance.

“We are excited to further our partnerships with our customers as they scale their medical programs,” said Vincent Dussault, VP of Sales and Engineering at Exo-s. “Manufacturing bottlenecks should never inhibit the ability to deliver critical medical devices to the market.”

Exo-s leverages industry-leading robotic automation equipment from FANUC Robotics to provide reliable, repeatable assembly solutions for its medtech OEM partners. The company combines expertise in product design, engineering, tooling, injection molding, automation, and assembly to develop manufacturing solutions tailored to the needs of complex medical programs.

“It is Exo-s’ mission to contribute significantly to our OEM partner’s efficiency by proposing solutions based on our expertise in design, engineering, and in this case, robotic automation and assembly,” said Dussault.
