Every year, millions of tonnes of electronic waste — often referred to as “urban mines” — are produced worldwide. These contain precious metals like gold, silver, palladium, and copper. At PX Précinox (PX Group), we see this not as a problem, but as a powerful opportunity.

With decades of expertise in precious metal recycling and recovery, PX Précinox transforms e-waste into usable resources. Using our in-house foundry, we recover and refine metals from electronic waste, reintegrating them into new production cycles — both for our customers and for our own processes. The International E-Waste Day held on October 14^th is an annual event focused on raising awareness of the growing problem of electronic waste, which is the fastest growing category of waste! By 2030, global e-waste production is expected to reach 74.7 million tonnes, equivalent to 7,390 Eiffel Towers.

Did you know? From one ton of ore, we can extract an average of one gram of gold in an industrial mine, compared to twenty-five grams of gold in a small-scale mine. From one ton of electronic waste, we can recover between 100 and 400 grams of gold.
