Schiederwerk has decades of experience in the design and production of customized power supplies for medical technology. As part of a European group, we continuously invest in the expansion of our development and production capacities. This enables us to provide our customers with fast and innovative complete solutions for the power supply and control of their medical devices. In contrast to standard products, our solutions are always optimal in terms of installation space and cost.

Our location in Nuremberg in the south of Germany has a long tradition in power electronics. Here, with two hundred employees, we develop and produce quality products for our national and international customers. We are particularly valued for our reliability and flexibility with regard to quantities and product requirements.

Modular Configurable Power – Customized for your needs

Switching power supplies for medical applications from Schiederwerk can be completely specified by the customer. But standard functions such as power factor correction, safe isolation (MOOP, MOPP) and typical low voltage outputs (5Vdc, 12Vdc, 24Vdc, 48Vdc) are fully pre-developed and can be taken from our EN60601 tested standard modular system. Our power supply kit reduces development times, costs and risk in your project to a minimum. At the same time, the special architecture of our supply solution is very flexible in terms of form factor, connections, geometry and communication (e.g. PMBUS, CAN), which makes integration into the end device much easier. It can be scaled in the power range up to 2kW per unit.

Special functions such as pulse current sources, higher frequency AC sources as well as UPS functions and wireless charging systems are developed and can be added according to your specifications. Based on our experience in the field of drive technology, LED drivers and embedded system technology, we serve a broad range of applications. In this way, we offer an integrated power electronics solution, which is optimally adapted in terms of size, cost, efficiency and utilization. This combination option of cost-effective standard supplies from the modular system and complex customer-specific circuits is unique.

A reliable partner from the development up to the series production

We support you in your projects from the beginning by our development engineers. Whether it is finding the right concept or creating a specification, the production of a sample already on the production equipment to the final series production including a hardware & software text system adapted to your requirements.

We keep your product alive and update throughout its life cycle

In the course of a product life cycle, various circumstances and requirements can change due to different external factors. We react, in close cooperation with your R&D, quickly and individually to changing requirements and also keep an eye on long-term standards evolution to ensure that you always receive the optimum product with the highest quality Made in Germany.

Imaging, Endoscopy, X-Ray, Ultrasound

The quality of imaging systems in medical technology is highly dependent on the quality of the power supply. Our solutions stand for high reliability and stability over the entire operating range. Typical applications for our power supplies are high-voltage generators for X-ray equipment, ultrasound transducers or endoscope lamps. Also for RF applications we develop power supplies and DC/DC converters with isolated and high precision voltage outputs and minimal leakage currents. Often, the power supply from Schiederwerk forms the only system supply of a mobile medical device or stationary equipment, which includes sensors and actuators as well as peripheral devices such as monitors, printers and the workstation.

Surgery Table, Dental Chair, Special Medical Lighting solutions, UV

We have further examples of the successful integration of customer-specific power supply units in medical technology in dental units and operating tables. In addition to the central adjustment units, the devices take over the supply and measurement function of sensors (pressure and temperature) as well as actuators such as pumps. Uninterruptible power supply can also be a requirement.

Drivers for LEDs, lasers and discharge lamps represent another class of devices at Schiederwerk. They are used to generate radiation in the visible, IR and UV range and are installed in surgical lighting, endoscopes and therapy equipment.
