Baxter Launches Connex 360 Vital Signs Monitor

Baxter International Inc., a global leader in medical technology, has announced the launch of the Welch Allyn Connex 360 Vital Signs Monitor, its newest advancement in patient monitoring. As part of Baxter’s expanding connected care portfolio, the Connex 360 introduces a robust platform emphasizing security, connectivity, and customizable options tailored to clinical workflows. It also features future-ready upgrade paths. With automated documentation built in, the device is intended to streamline clinician tasks and maximize the time spent on patient care.

“There is nothing more important than keeping patients safe, especially when time is of the essence,” said Julie Foster, president of Front Line Care at Baxter. “Care teams rely on vital signs monitoring to help detect changes in their patients’ conditions and make informed decisions. With Connex 360, we are advancing patient monitoring to provide care teams with the timely insights they need at the bedside, so they can make the most of every moment with their patients.”

In today’s demanding healthcare landscape, where clinical teams face growing workloads, having timely, accurate, and secure patient data is essential. The Connex 360 supports adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, capturing vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate¹, and blood oxygen saturation². Engineered for efficiency, the system enables clinicians to collect a full set of vitals in under a minute and automatically send the data to the electronic medical record (EMR), helping to reduce errors from manual input and aid in timely care decisions.

Driving this secure and seamless data integration is Baxter’s cloud-based DeviceBridge platform, which facilitates accurate transmission from Connex 360 to hospital IT infrastructures, including EMRs. DeviceBridge also supports secure device access and ensures interoperability across Baxter’s suite of connected medical technologies.

Additional highlights of the Connex 360 include:

Robust security: End-to-end encryption and certificate-based authentication help safeguard patient and institutional data.

User-friendly design: A large, responsive color touchscreen enhances usability and enables clinicians to view more patient data at a glance.

Tailored configuration: Customizable Early Warning Score alerts help clinicians identify signs of patient decline, and adaptable monitoring modes support individualized care.

Streamlined updates: Ongoing software updates for clinical performance, operational improvements, and cybersecurity enhancements minimize strain on IT teams and enable continuous device evolution.

Baxter strengthened its capabilities in patient monitoring through its acquisition of Hillrom and the respected Welch Allyn product line. With decades of innovation in care delivery tools across various healthcare environments, Welch Allyn remains a trusted name in clinical monitoring. Baxter’s continued investment in connected solutions is reflected in the Connex 360, now part of its reliable lineup of vital signs monitors. The Connex 360 has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is currently available for hospitals and health systems across the United States.
