Vent’s new web-based software is now available for clinical use in the U.S., starting with CT-based knee arthroplasty surgical planning.
Vent Creativity, a medical software company specializing in digital twinning, has announced the FDA clearance of its AI-powered solution, Hermes Knee. This software leverages deep learning (DL) to create surgical plans for mechanical, kinematic, and anatomical alignment techniques in both total and partial knee arthroplasty procedures.
Vent℠ Hermes is built on the Minerva platform, which also supports planning and analysis for research in other medical applications. The system allows users to interact with bone structures through intensity representations in a patented point cloud format, enabling surgeons and radiologists to evaluate variations in human phenotypes and arthritic conditions. Preoperative cut planes, screw trajectories, and other operations can be visualized to compare the patient with previous cases. The platform is cloud-based and operates under secure protocols. Surgeons can modify the plans, annotate areas of concern, and generate reports for documentation, outcome studies, potential reimbursement, or any other use by accredited medical professionals.
“We are a company of industry professionals who have worked on every aspect of the orthopedic and medical technology and have identified patient specific planning with digital-twin informed technologies to be the missing link in the reported outcomes. Our unique approach to everything in healthcare is our strength as we have shown a free and fast-moving path to patents, publications, and regulatory submissions. We intend to prioritize research and development while sharing appropriate data with our partners for mutual growth of the healthcare sector desperate for collaborative instead of competitive growth for all.” – Gilly Yildirim, CEO.
