Ultra Clean Systems, Inc. Acquired By Getinge

Getinge recently announced their acquisition of the totality of the shares of Ultra Clean Systems Inc, which is a leading manufacturer in the US of ultrasonic cleaning technologies, which are used in surgery centres and hospitals to decontaminate surgical equipment.
Ultrasonic cleaning is integral to the best practices of reprocessing instruments, particularly very complex ones, such as those used for robotic surgery, as it significantly reduces the risk of infections acquired in hospitals.
With the addition of Ultra Clean’s expertise and technology, we significantly expand our offering to sterile reprocessing departments in North America, which now contains a complete range of process equipment, consumables and IT solutions,” says Stéphane Le Roy, President Surgical Workflows at Getinge. “Getinge’s global sales reach will be a great platform to accelerate the adoption of Ultra Clean’s technologies”. Ultra Clean Systems Inc. is based around Tampa, Florida in the U.S., and has generated an annual revenue in 2022 of SEK 90M. For nearly 10 years, Gentinge has exclusively distributed Ultra Clean Systems’ offerings in North America.
Through vertical integration, Gentinge will be able to ensure the best possible service continuity for hundreds of units already installed in the U.S. Becky Cale, President and O’Brien Cale, CEO and founder of Ultra Clean Systems adds, “In supporting Getinge to realize its strategic ambition, Ultra Clean Systems is rightly being recognized for its expertise in Ultra Sonic cleaning technology.
We can feel an immense pride knowing that our customers will continue to benefit from the quality products that Ultra Clean Systems has been known for.”
Getinge will acquire 100% of Ultra Clean Systems Inc.’s shares for SEK 170M (which is $16M) in cash, and is expecting zero material integration costs in 2023. The acquisition is also not expected to have any material impact on the company’s operating profits and earnings per share from the start of this year.
