Medtronic Appoints New Chief Operations and Supply Chain Officer

Medtronic has appointed Rogerio Branco as senior vice president and chief operations and supply chain officer.

Before joining Medtronic, Branco served as executive vice president and chief operations and supply chain officer at Eaton, the Dublin-based power management company, where he spent more than 33 years.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to organizations where mission, innovation, and operational excellence come together to make a meaningful impact, and that is exactly what I see at Medtronic,” Branco said in a LinkedIn post announcing the move. “I’m honored to join a team that plays such a critical role in delivering life-changing technologies to patients around the world.”

In his new position, Branco “leads the strategy and execution of Medtronic’s end-to-end operations and supply chain to drive reliability, efficiency, and growth while delivering for patients and customers around the world,” according to the company’s website.

His duties include overseeing global operations performance and integration across manufacturing, supply chain, supply management, operational excellence and transformation, enterprise risk, facilities, and operations quality.

“With more than three decades of experience in global operations and supply chain, Rogerio is known for building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence across complex, multinational organizations,” Medtronic said, noting that at Eaton he oversaw “integrated materials management and inventory, procurement, logistics, supplier development and quality, and manufacturing and footprint strategy, driving increased efficiency and supporting the company’s growth objectives.”

Branco earned a degree in mechanical engineering from University of São Paulo and an MBA in finance management from University of Campinas in Brazil.

“Over my first days with the company, I’ve already been impressed by the talent, expertise, and commitment across the operations function,” Branco said. “I’m looking forward to listening, learning, and partnering with teams across the enterprise as we continue building on a strong foundation and momentum heading into FY27.”

“Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me so warmly,” he continued. “I’m excited for the journey ahead and proud to be part of the Medtronic team.”

Medtronic’s former supply chain chief, Greg Smith, retired from the company in December 2025 and has since taken on the role of chief supply chain officer at Walgreens.
