GE HealthCare obtains FDA clearance for new coronary CT system

GE HealthCare has announced that its Revolution Vibe CT imaging system has received FDA 510(k) clearance.

Developed in Chicago, the Revolution Vibe is designed to advance coronary CT angiography (CCTA) by offering unlimited one-beat cardiac imaging and integrated AI-powered tools. According to GE HealthCare, the system provides a fast, powerful, and non-invasive method for detecting potential heart blockages, while also improving patient comfort and clinical workflow.

Engineered to handle even the most complex cardiac cases, including patients with arrhythmias, heavily calcified coronaries, valves, stents, or bypasses. The system delivers full-heart imaging clarity at low radiation doses, even in scenarios without an ECG trace.

Key features such as ECG-less Cardiac, TrueFidelity DL, SnapShot Freeze 2, and Effortless Cardiac Workflow aim to enhance image quality and reduce exam time, making cardiac CT more efficient and widely accessible.

With FDA clearance now in place, GE HealthCare says this milestone supports broader adoption across healthcare facilities in the U.S.. Additionally, the company announced the first international installation of the system at Radiologie du Var – ELSAN in Ollioules, France, marking the technology’s global debut.

“Revolution Vibe’s FDA clearance comes at the perfect time, with guidelines being adopted clinically for cardiac CT and with positive reimbursement driving procedure growth, this is the time to usher in a new era of cardiac imaging,” shares Jean-Luc Procaccini, president and CEO, Molecular Imaging and Computed Tomography, GE HealthCare. “Designed to help clinicians detect coronary artery disease and help plan valvular heart interventions quickly and confidently – even in complex cases – Revolution Vibe offers a practical, high-performance solution to help improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce exam time, and support better patient outcomes.”
