Stryker Announces Agreement to Acquire care.ai

Stryker has announced a definitive agreement to acquire care.ai. This acquisition will enhance Stryker’s expanding healthcare IT solutions and its portfolio of wirelessly connected medical devices.

As healthcare providers face ongoing challenges such as nursing shortages, employee retention issues, overworked staff, and rising workplace safety concerns, this growing segment is becoming increasingly critical. care.ai brings complementary technology that will seamlessly integrate with the Vocera platform and Stryker’s devices, offering customers a comprehensive enterprise-wide ecosystem that supports dynamic clinical workflows and advances the development of smart care facilities. care.ai’s platform and sensors facilitate various AI-assisted workflows, helping create a responsive and personalized healthcare environment, enabling caregivers to spend more time with patients.

“This acquisition underscores our commitment and focus on our customers,” stated Andy Pierce, Group President, MedSurg and Neurotechnology, Stryker. “care.ai will help Stryker significantly accelerate our healthcare IT and digital vision to provide customers with real-time, smart and connected decision-making tools that enhance the lives of caregivers and their patients.”

The transaction is subject to regular closing conditions. Until the transaction is finalized, Stryker and care.ai will continue to operate independently and maintain normal business operations.
