Medical device company Masimo Corporation has reported that a cyberattack is disrupting its production operations and delaying the fulfillment of customer orders.
Based in California, Masimo is known for its non-invasive patient monitoring technologies, including pulse oximeters, brain function monitors, hemodynamic monitoring systems, capnography and gas monitoring solutions, and remote patient monitoring platforms.
With an annual revenue of $2.1 billion (2024) and around 3,600 employees globally, Masimo is publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol MASI.
The company revealed the breach in a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the evening of April 27, 2025. While the specific details of the attack have not been disclosed, Masimo confirmed that its on-premise network was compromised, prompting the company to isolate affected systems.
This cybersecurity incident has had a significant impact on the company’s manufacturing and operational activities.
“As a result of the incident, certain of the Company’s manufacturing facilities have been operating at less than normal levels, and the Company’s ability to process, fulfill, and ship customer orders timely has been temporarily impacted,” reads the 8-K filing.
“The Company has been working diligently to bring the affected portions of its network back online, restore normal business operations and mitigate the impact of the incident.”
Masimo believes the breach was limited to its on-premise systems and did not affect its cloud infrastructure. However, the investigation into the full scope of the attack is ongoing, so it remains unclear if any customer data was compromised or whether the incident will affect the company’s financial performance for the current quarter.
Masimo is collaborating with cybersecurity experts and has informed law enforcement. As of now, no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
